Jan Dekker, Managing Director
Jan is a career cleantech investment professional. An experienced venture investor and company director, he has been employed in a variety of senior executive roles within the cleantech sector for over 20 years.Prior to founding Cleantech Ventures, Jan was the founding Managing Director of the Centre for Energy and Greenhouse Technologies and was previously an Associate Director at the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (NSW). He has also held positions with Sydney Water, the NSW EPA and as an environmental consultant. Jan currently serves on the Advisory Committee of the Commonwealth Government’s Clean Technology Innovation Centre, the CSIRO’s Manufacturing Sector Advisory Committee, and the Commercialisation Advisory Committee of the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination.
Jan holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Law from Sydney University, a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Studies from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University and graduate qualifications in Applied Finance from the Financial Services Institute of Australia. He continues to serve on the boards of several companies.
