13/02/2008 - Julian Turecek joins Cleantech Ventures

Cleantech Ventures has bolstered its investment team with the appointment of Julian Turecek in the role of investment manager.

Julian has over 16 years experience in the energy industry, with a strong emphasis on emerging greenhouse markets. Prior to joining Cleantech Ventures, Julian was a senior manager at Origin Energy where he most recently led climate change and energy policy. His earlier roles at Origin included setting up and running the carbon markets trading desk and trading in the electricity and gas markets. Previously Julian held trading and marketing positions at BHP Petroleum, Ecogen Energy, Boral Energy and Enron Australia.

Julian's experience in renewables, carbon and regulation will add to our specialisation and expertise in this area" said Jan Dekker, a Principal at Cleantech Ventures.

Cleantech Ventures has $80 million under management through the Cleantech Australia Fund and the CEGT Fund.

Julian holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University. Julian lectures in Emissions Trading at Macquarie University's Applied Finance Centre.
